Daniel F. Connor, M.D. Professor Division Chief of Child & Adolescent PsychiatryDr Connor holds the Lockean Distinguished Chair in Mental Health Education, Research, and Clinical Improvement at the University of Connecticut Medical School. He is the Division Chief of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Connecticut Health Center. He is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Adult Psychiatry and subspecialty-certified in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. As a practicing pediatric psychopharmacologist and clinical researcher, Dr Connor has extensive experience treating children, adolescents, and adults with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), oppositional defiant disorder (ODD), conduct disorder (CD), anxiety disorder, and affective disorders. His research interests include investigating the effectiveness and tolerability of existing and new pharmacological treatments for ADHD, ODD, and CD in children and adults, studying the phenomenology of impulsive-aggressive behaviors in psychiatric patients, and investigating the developmental neurobiology of aggression and externalizing behavior disorders. He is most interested in developing and investigating new models of collaborative clinical care in pediatric mental health. Dr Connor has authored or co-authored over 120 journal articles, abstracts, and book chapters. He is the author of Aggression and Antisocial Behaviors in Children and Adolescents: Research and Treatment, published by the Guilford Press in New York in 2002, and translated into a Russian edition in 2005. He is the lead author of Pediatric Psychopharmacology Fast Facts, published by WW Norton in 2006.
